Training
The Sea Cadet program has mandatory training that occurs on Thursday nights. All training required to complete your phase and be eligible for promotion happen on Thursdays. Some weekend training is also required in order to complete your training each year.
Optional training includes many of the optional activities that you can participate in. These include things like band, drill team, biathlon, marksmanship, and other activities |
Phase 1For new Cadets. An introduction to the Cadet program where you learn about drill, uniform upkeep, ranks and the naval environment

Phase 2This is the second year of training, where cadets learn more advanced skills than in phase one, and new topics such as peer leadership

Phase 3Phase three Cadets have great familiarity with all the basics and start to learn how to teach other Cadets, act as a team leader, and start to identify the specialties that they want to learn more about.

Phase 4Phase four is about preparing cadets to become instructors and leaders in the Corps, learning and practicing leadership skills and instructional techniques. Many phase four Cadets are assigned leadership roles within the Corps.
